Ls/Vtev Engine BlockI put this guide together because I’m tired of seeing the SAME post’s over and over of simple questions that can be answered in one simple write-up like this one. This post is designed to be an end-all, tell-all type thread. Please keep in mind though, that this is still just a general guide. Lsvtec/b20vtec engines are not Honda manufactured engines. With that said, there are hundreds of combinations you can build. (more…)

How To Fix A Leaky Oil Pan

Bloged in How-To's > Maintenance by webmaster Wednesday September 13, 2006

If your oil Pan is leaking from around the seems you can correct this problem as so….Drop the oil pan by loosening and removing the nuts. Once the oil pan is removed make sure to remove any washers that might be left behind from the gasket. They are very small and can easily be missed, they usually are stuck to the engine block where the bolts are, make sure they are ALL removed. Remove the gasket from the oil pan. Clean the surface around the oil pan that touches the engine block and clean the engine block itself using a degreaser. After both surfaces are clean apply Honda Bond on the oil pan edges, make sure you apply it liberally around the edges where there is no bolt holes. (more…)

Stop The Rattles In Your Hatchback

Bloged in How-To's > Maintenance by webmaster Wednesday September 13, 2006

Hatchbacks are known to have some rattles and squeaks while driving. If you are experiencing this problem, there is a simple solution. When you open your hatch, on the inside of the hatch there are 2 little rubber stoppers that can be screwed outwards to a desired length, this subtle addition by Honda’s engineers will quiet your rattles. If this doesn’t work for some reason, you should try wrapping your hatch-latch with tape. This works every time. This info was supplied by whamann@gladstone.uoregon.edu (more…)

Making Custom Headlight Eyelids

Bloged in How-To's > Aftermarket Custom by webmaster Wednesday September 13, 2006

First you will need GTS headlight covers from a 88-91 Civic. What I did was a basic chop job. I first put the headlight covers over the headlights. Then I took a pen and drew a line for the shape I was looking for. After making the lines I took out a Dremel and a small saw. I chopped away tillI got a basic shape, took out some fine sand paper and smoothed out the edges. After that I sprayed the eyelids with primer, then off to the shop they went to get painted. (more…)

88-91 Civic to Integra Center Console Swap

Bloged in How-To's > Aftermarket Custom by webmaster Wednesday September 13, 2006

Make sure that you get the console with the ash tray and the cig lighter. Of course you need both front and rear to make the console complete. Take your radio/ac bezel out of your car and place it on a bench of workstation of some sort. You will see that the lower piece kinda is held on in the front by plastic welds, and the rear is by one long hinge one each side. Don’t worry about breaking anything, just start pulling, you will see how it comes apart. Once you get it apart you can mock up the two pieces on the bench, the upper from your old console, and the lower from your Integra console. They meet up so so. (more…)

Installing Integra Seats Into Your Civic

Bloged in How-To's > Aftermarket Custom by webmaster Wednesday September 13, 2006

The Integra seats do fit in the 88-91 Civic with modification. I used 90 Integra seats, 94+ Integra seats might be easier to install. This mod was not easy. From the Integra you will need all parts/railing that come with the seats. You need to remove one side of the railings from the Integra seat and swap the original Civic railing to it. After you do this you must drill new holes to mount the railings. Makesure you remove the seat belt holder from the Integra seat also or the seatswill not fit in your car. (more…)

Be careful not to touch your gauge needles. They are extremely delicate! Be very gentile. These faces are designed to be installed WITHOUT removing or touching the needles. Remove the screws on either side of the needle on the speedometer and the tachometer. (more…)
